Main Features:
Compact structure
This entry level machine is ideal for those with limited spaces – it can fit in anywhere and takes up little room. The sleek and contemporary model stands at a height of 16 inches, so it can easily fit under most cabinets in the U.S.
Top quality
The exterior, interior, and drip tray is made using stainless steel, which makes the machine highly durable. The material is specifically designed to ensure an aesthetic element and prolong the machine’s lifespan. Stainless steel also prevents rust, stains, acids, or other corrosive buildups. The portafilter is also professional grade and is made of high quality chrome plated brass.
Simple operation
The Silvano uses just 3 toggle switches to control the machine. The top switch has 3 positions – 0, 1, and 2, with 0 turning the machine off, 1 used for pumping only, and 2 for switching on the boiler and pump. The middle switch, also the brew switch, utilizes light indicators for signaling on or off, while the bottom one regulates the steam pump with an indicator to show when it is heating up.
Thermoblock steaming
The frothing and steaming is facilitated by a steam pump and uses a thermoblock to heat the water. It takes about 75 seconds to steam 8 ounces of liquid to 160°F at a decent speed. The presence of the thermoblock means you don’t have to transition between the brewing boiler and steaming mechanism of the boiler, as it can be done simultaneously.
Temperature control
A PID or proportional-integral-derivative control is situated in the form of a display on the upper left hand corner. Temperature management is easy and can be set and the same setting can be used on a continual day to day basis. The PID supports dual temperature scales of Celsius and Fahrenheit for your convenience and the controller can be modified from its preset value of 200°F.
Vibratory pumps
A couple of Ulka vibratory pumps – 52 watt and 16 watt – are exclusively incorporated for the brew boiler and steam thermoblock respectively. This way the machine can generate steam and brew espresso at the same time, without having to wait for temperature changes between brewing and steaming. The high quality pumps ensure that water is there when it’s needed and are designed to provide enough power to create pressure for the brewing process.
Large Drip Tray Prevents Spills and Stains
The Silvano has an extra large pull-out drip tray, with a capacity of 46 ounces. While the tray is large, is also designed to be easily removable for emptying and cleaning.
Easy Pump Pressure Adjustment
An expansion valve under the group head allows for easy adjustment of pump pressure without the need to remove the exterior casing on the machine.
2 Liter Water Reservoir
The large reservoir on the Silvano will also you to make drink after drink with fewer refills in between. Most cabinets make it difficult to operate an espresso machine due to the space between the countertop and the cabinets above it. Instead of having a reservoir that is removable through the top of the machine, the Silvano has a convenient side removal reservoir. The reservoir can be refilled by removing and taking it to a faucet or it can be pulled out and filled with a water pitcher or bottle. Please make sure to use softened water, not hard water or distilled water.
Pressure Gauge
Achieve the best extraction by using the PID temperature controller and the pump pressure gauge for the brew boiler.
