The pure white Acer 16GB Iconia A1 8" Tablet is equipped with an IPS multi-touch 8.1" TFT color LCD panel with 1024 x 768 resolution and LED backlighting. It features an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 1GB of RAM memory and a 1.2 GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. The tablet also supports integrated PowerVR SGX 544 graphics, as well as 16GB of flash storage capacity. The A1 features 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi wireless connectivity for accessing the Internet through a wireless home network or from a Wi-Fi hot-spot. It also supports Bluetooth 4.0 technology for wireless connection to Bluetooth-enabled devices. The A1 is outfitted with a headphone jack, a micro-USB 2.0 port and a micro-HDMI terminal. The availability of a micro-HDMI port affords quick and easy output of saved media or Internet content on your A1 to any HDTV for viewing on a large screen in uncompressed Full HD. Acer has also equipped the A1 with dual integrated cameras. The front-facing 0.3MP webcam can be used for video chats, while the rear-facing 5MP camera allows you to capture photos and Full HD video. The A1's lithium-ion battery provides up to eight hours of runtime as well. Other tablet features include access to Google Play and the integrated Touch Wake App that instantly wakes up your tablet with a simple touch of the screen.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system provides access via apps and widgets for web searching, communicating, traveling, shopping, social networking and more. The Google Play store features over 600,000 games and apps. It also features Google Currents, which is an app that offers free online magazines from hundreds of publishers and top websites in one place.

USB & HDMI Connectivity

You can use the tablet to move files to and from your PC via USB, or view content from USB-connected peripherals. Plus, you can use the micro-HDMI port to connect the Iconia A1 up to a large HDTV screen with an HDMI input.
